How to
How to Download Audio From a Facebook Video
Three steps, about fifteen seconds, and the same on a phone or a computer.
Copy the Video or Reel Link
Open the video or Reel on Facebook, tap Share and choose Copy link. On a computer, the address bar works too while the video is open on its own.
Paste It and Press Get Audio
Paste the link into the field at the top of this page and press Get audio. Watch links, Reels, page videos and short fb.watch links are all accepted.
Choose MP3 or M4A
Tap MP3 for a file that plays everywhere, or M4A for the sound exactly as Facebook stored it. Only the audio downloads, so it is quick even on mobile data.
The basics
What Does a Facebook Audio Downloader Do?
Short answer: it saves only the soundtrack of a public Facebook video or Reel. Facebook keeps the sound as its own AAC stream; this tool copies that stream as M4A, or converts it once to MP3. You skip downloading the whole video and running it through a converter yourself.
Some older uploads have no separate sound stream. For those, the track is lifted straight out of the video file instead, so you still get audio only. Either way the result is a fraction of the video's size: an MP3 runs at about 1.4 MB per minute, while the same minute of 1080p video can be ten times that.
Nothing about the sound is improved or degraded on purpose. M4A is a bit-for-bit copy of what Facebook plays. MP3 goes through one careful conversion at 192 kbps, which is more than enough for speech and very good for music.
Features
Free FB Audio Downloader Features
What you get, and where the limits are, before you paste a link.
MP3 at 192 kbps
Converted once from the original sound at 192 kbps. MP3 opens in every music app, car stereo, smart speaker and phone.
Original M4A, Untouched
The AAC track copied exactly as Facebook stores it, with no conversion at all. The best choice for editing or archiving.
Videos and Reels
Regular videos, Watch clips, Reels and Live replays all work. Paste any public link and the sound is ready a few seconds later.
No Login, No App
No Facebook account, no sign-up and nothing to install. It runs in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
Small Files, Fast Saves
Only the audio travels to your device, so an hour-long talk is a manageable download even on a phone.
Every Device
Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux all get the same two buttons and the same standard files.
Formats
MP3 or M4A: Which Audio Format Should You Pick?
Both are offered for every link. They suit different jobs.
| MP3 | M4A | |
|---|---|---|
| How it is made | Converted once at 192 kbps | Copied as Facebook stored it |
| Sound quality | Very good, one conversion | Identical to the source |
| Size per minute | about 1.4 MB | about 0.7 to 1 MB |
| Plays on | Everything, including car stereos | Phones, computers and most apps |
| Pick it for | Listening anywhere | Editing, archiving, best quality |
It surprises people that the M4A is often smaller than the MP3 yet sounds slightly better. That is because it skips conversion entirely: you get Facebook's own AAC file. MP3 wins on compatibility. If you are not sure which device will play the file, choose MP3.
Convert
How to Convert Facebook to MP3 Without Software
The old route was three tools and ten minutes. This one is a single paste.
The usual advice is to download the video first, install a desktop converter, load the file in, wait for it to finish, then delete the video you never wanted. Online converters that ask you to upload an MP4 add another wait and send your file to a stranger's server.
Here the conversion happens while the file downloads, on the server, from Facebook's original sound. What arrives on your device is already an MP3, so there is nothing to convert, upload or clean up afterwards. If you saved the video earlier, you do not need it: paste the original Facebook link instead.
- No desktop converter to install
- No MP4 to upload
- No sign-up or email
- Converted from the original sound, not a copy
Coverage
What Audio Can You Save From Facebook?
Any public video or Reel with sound. These are the four uses people come here for most.
Reel Music and Voiceovers
The sound behind a Reel, whether it is a trending song or the creator's own voice. Paste the Reel link here, or use the Facebook Reels downloader to keep the video too.
Interviews and Podcasts
Many shows publish full episodes on their Facebook Page. Save the audio and listen on a walk or in the car without streaming the video.
Sermons, Lectures and Talks
Long recordings are where audio-only pays off most: an hour of MP3 is about 85 MB, far smaller than the same hour of video.
Live Replays
Once a Facebook Live ends and the replay is saved on the Page, its sound downloads like any other video. During the broadcast there is no file yet.

Safety & law
Is It Safe and Legal to Save Facebook Audio?
Audio raises one question video does not: whose music is it?
Short answer: saving the sound of a public video for your own listening is generally fine. Reusing it is where problems start, especially with music. Songs added to Reels from Facebook's music library are licensed for playback inside Facebook only, so putting them in your own video or uploading them elsewhere can trigger a copyright claim.
On safety: this page asks for nothing but a link. There is no login, nothing to install, and the links you paste and files you save are not kept. Be wary of converter sites that push browser extensions or ask you to sign in with Facebook.
Generally fine
- Listening to a talk or podcast offline
- Keeping the audio of your own videos
- Saving a lecture to study from
- Audio the owner said you can use
Not fine
- Using a licensed song in your own videos
- Uploading someone's podcast as your own
- Selling or streaming downloaded music
- Getting around a private or friends-only video
