How to Download Facebook Reels Online in 3 Steps
The steps for an FB Reels download are identical on Android, iPhone and a computer. All you need is the Reel's link.
Copy the Reel Link
In the Facebook app, open the Reel, tap Share and choose Copy link. On a computer, open the Reel and copy the address bar. It usually looks like facebook.com/reel/ followed by a long number.
Paste It Into the Box Above
Paste the link into the field at the top of this page and press Download Reel. Share links, short fb.watch links and links with tracking text on the end all work as they are.
Save the MP4
Tap the top row for the best quality, or a smaller size to save data. Choose MP3 if you only want the sound. The file goes straight to your Downloads folder.
The basics
What Is a Facebook Reels Downloader?
Short answer: it is a web tool that turns a Reel's link into a file you keep. Facebook already streams every public Reel as an MP4. The downloader finds that file, lists the sizes available and hands the one you pick to your browser. Nothing in the video changes: same picture, same sound, no watermark.
Behind the button, three things happen. The tool opens the public Reel page the way a logged-out browser would, reads the video and sound streams Facebook serves there, and, for 1080p, joins the separate picture and sound streams into one MP4 without compressing either again. That last step is why the result matches what plays in the app instead of looking like a copy of a copy.
If a Reel is not public, Facebook never hands those streams to a logged-out visitor. That is the honest limit of any downloader, and the reason a tool promising to save private Reels is either asking for your password or not telling the truth.
Features
Facebook Reels Download Online: What You Get
Every Facebook Reels video download here is free, works in any modern browser and needs no account.
Full Vertical HD
Reels save in their native 9:16 shape at the largest size Facebook stores, usually 1080 × 1920. No black bars, no cropping and no fake upscaling.
Original Sound in Sync
Music, voiceover and effects stay exactly in time, because you get the audio track Facebook plays, not a recording through your phone speaker.
No Login, No App
There is no Facebook sign-in and nothing to install. The tool runs in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac.
No Watermark Added
Facebook does not burn a logo into the original Reel file, and this tool adds none. No badge, no end card, no corner text.
Sound Only as MP3
Want the song or voiceover without the picture? Every result has MP3 and M4A rows, and the Facebook audio downloader is built for exactly that.
Cover Image as JPG
The Reel thumbnail saves as a full-size JPG, useful as a reference image or a cover for your own saved playlist.

Which Facebook Reels Can You Download?
The rule is simple: if a Reel plays for someone who is logged out of Facebook, you can save it here. That covers more places than most people expect.
Public Profiles
Reels from a personal profile shared with the Public audience. The small globe icon next to the date is the quick way to check.
Pages, Creators and Businesses
Brand, creator and business Pages publish Reels publicly by default, which makes them the most reliable Reels to save.
Public Groups
A Reel posted in a public group downloads like any other. Reels inside private groups are shown only to members and stay there.
Private and Removed Reels
Friends-only Reels, private groups, and Reels that were deleted or restricted cannot be saved. Facebook serves no file to fetch.
Facebook Reel Links That Work

facebook.com/share/r/AbC123xyz/
fb.watch/AbC123xyz/
m.facebook.com/reel/1234567890
facebook.com/watch/?v=1234567890

Copied links often end in text like ?mibextid=… or ?rdid=…. Paste them exactly as copied; the extra part is stripped before the lookup.
Quality
Can You Download Facebook Reels in HD?
Yes, as long as the Reel was uploaded in HD. This is what Facebook usually keeps for a Reel, and what each version is good for.
| Version | Typical size | Best for | Sound |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full HD | 1080 × 1920 | Keeping, editing, big screens | Joined in for you |
| HD | 720 × 1280 | Everyday viewing on a phone | Included |
| SD | 540 × 960 or lower | Saving mobile data and space | Included |
Which sizes appear depends on the upload. A Reel filmed on a recent phone almost always has a 1080 × 1920 version. A Reel made in an older app, or re-uploaded after being saved somewhere else, may stop at 720p. The list you see after pasting a link only includes sizes that really exist, so the top row is always the best copy Facebook has.
If a saved Reel looks soft, check that top row first. When it says 720p or lower, the softness came with the upload. Screen recordings posted as Reels are the usual cause: they were blurry before they ever reached Facebook, and no tool can add detail that was never there.
Browser only
How to Save Facebook Reels Without an App or Login
The question people ask most, usually right after an app asked for their Facebook password.
In your browser. Open this page in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, paste the Reel link and save. Nothing is installed, so nothing runs in the background or asks for access to your photos, contacts or notifications.
Without your Facebook login. Public Reels are visible to everyone, so there is no reason to sign in. A downloader that wants your Facebook email and password is after your account, not the Reel. Close it and change your password if you already typed it in.
For watching offline. Once saved, the MP4 lives on your device and plays without data, even if the creator deletes the Reel later. Download on Wi-Fi before a flight or a commute and it is waiting in your gallery.
- Works in any modern browser
- Never asks for a Facebook email or password
- No extension, no app permissions
- Plays offline once saved

Facebook Reels vs Instagram Reels: Which Downloader to Use
Many creators post the same Reel to both apps. The links look different, and each one needs the matching tool.

| Link looks like | facebook.com/reel/… or fb.watch/… | instagram.com/reel/… |
| Tool to use | This page | Instagram Reels downloader |

Devices
Save Facebook Reels on Android, iPhone and PC
The three steps are the same everywhere. What changes is where the file lands and how to get it into your gallery.
| Device | How to save | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| Android | Copy the link in the Facebook app, paste it here in Chrome | Download folder, then Gallery or Google Photos on its own |
| iPhone / iPad | Copy the link, paste it here in Safari, tap Download Reel | Files → Downloads. Open it, tap Share → Save Video for Photos |
| Windows | Copy the address bar in any browser and paste it here | C:\Users\you\Downloads |
| Mac | Copy the address bar in Safari or Chrome and paste it here | ~/Downloads, drag into Photos to sync it |
Safety & law
Is It Safe and Legal to Save Facebook Reels?
Safe for you, and fair to the creator. Both are worth thirty seconds of thought.
Safe: this page never asks for a login, never installs anything, and does not keep the links you paste or the files you save. The Reel travels from Facebook's servers to your device and nowhere else. The risky downloaders are the ones that want your Facebook password or push an app with wide permissions.
Legal: a Reel belongs to the person who posted it, including any music they added. Keeping a public Reel to rewatch offline is personal use. Reposting it as your own, putting it in an ad or uploading it to another platform without permission is not, and Facebook's rights tools are good at spotting re-uploads.
Generally fine
- Backing up Reels you made yourself
- Saving a public Reel to watch offline
- Keeping a recipe, workout or tutorial Reel for reference
- Reels the creator said you can use
Not fine
- Reposting someone's Reel as your own
- Cutting a Reel into your own paid content
- Re-uploading Reels to TikTok or YouTube Shorts
- Getting around a friends-only setting
